What does it mean to be a human?
Where do you begin and where do you end?
What amount of your body or mind would need to be compromised before you stopped being you?
Would you need to lose your arm? All of your limbs? Your face? Your sight? Hearing? Taste? Capacity to think? Ability to experience joy or sadness?
What is it that makes you human?
I don’t have an answer to this, but I have a sense that who I am is bigger.
My meditation is much more about connecting to that space than anything else. It’s seeing that who I am is bigger than the thoughts, emotions, and sensations in this mind-body. It’s even bigger than my sense of self.
It’s in that space that there is stability. It’s in that space that I aim to take refuge. Â
