Real peace comes when the mind let’s go of trying to change this moment.

The mind’s conditioned way of relating to life is push/pull.

Like this, don’t like that. Want this, don’t want that.

Pretty/Ugly. Right/Wrong. Good/Bad.

It’s evolutionary wiring, and it’s OK. You don’t need to beat yourself up for relating to the world in this way. It’s part of being human. And for many aspects of life, it’s IMPORTANT to relate to the world in that way.

However, all of that pushing and pulling can be exhausting, constantly working to manufacture this moment to be a certain way.

There is another form of peace that occurs when the mind let’s go of trying to change this moment.

The only way to understand it is to taste it, to drink from its source.

And somewhere, deep in the well of mindfulness, you can.
