Impermanence can be scary. Our brains are wired to hold onto experiences and develop predictable scripts to explain ever changing phenomena. We tend to fight impermanence, but it’s like fighting gravity. You can’t win and it will just create more suffering.
In meditation, you sit and observe. Watching your moment to moment experience come and go. Thoughts, emotions, sensations, good and bad, all arising and passing. The more you meditate, the more comfortable the mind becomes with impermanence, and the less tightly it holds onto things being a certain way.
With this wisdom, it becomes much easier to move fluidly through life, blending with each moment like moving water.
